The Story Behind Earth, Heart & Light

My personal journey from anxiety, addiction and disconnection to creating a life rooted in nature, Reiki and spiritual healing.

My Journey Home

People often ask me how Earth, Heart & Light came to be.

The truth is, it wasn't created overnight.

It was born through my own healing journey.

There was a time when I wasn't grounded at all.

I lived almost entirely in my head, constantly overthinking, worrying what other people thought of me and feeling anxious about almost everything. Fear shaped many of my decisions, and I found myself caught in a cycle that felt exhausting and overwhelming.

Back then I was living in London, surrounded by the noise and pace of city life. Looking back now, I can see how disconnected I was—not only from nature, but from other people, from my own heart and from myself.

Any spiritual light I had was buried beneath alcohol and drug dependency, which had become my way of coping with the anxiety I carried every day. I wasn't truly living; I was simply trying to get through each day the best way I knew how.

Then something changed.

One day I came across The Little Book of Calm.

It was such a small thing, yet it became the beginning of something extraordinary.

For the first time, I began to meditate.

Those quiet moments became tiny glimmers of light in what had often felt like darkness.

Without realising it at the time, they were gently leading me home.

My journey took another profound turn when I received my first Reiki attunement.

Something shifted.

I couldn't explain it, but my energy felt different.

For the first time, I genuinely wanted to look after myself. I no longer wanted to surround myself with drama and chaos, or continue believing that I wasn't worthy of peace and happiness.

It was as though my self-worth was beginning to awaken.

With every Reiki attunement, another layer gently unfolded.

Old wounds surfaced, not to overwhelm me, but to be acknowledged, understood and healed.

Reiki didn't change who I was.

It helped me remember who I had always been beneath the fear.

A little while later, I left London and moved to Portsmouth.

I didn't realise then just how important that decision would become.

I found the beach.

I discovered the ancient woodlands of Hampshire.

And slowly, nature became one of my greatest teachers.

Today, my relationship with nature feels inseparable from who I am.

If I haven't spent enough time outdoors, I notice it.

Nature fills me up.

It calms my nervous system.

It brightens my energy.

It reminds me what really matters.

Years ago, I felt I had to make myself sit and meditate every day.

Now, although I still cherish my morning spiritual practice, my greatest meditation often happens naturally.

Walking beneath the trees.

Listening to birdsong.

Watching the changing seasons.

Feeling the warmth of the sun.

Standing quietly beside the sea.

Expressing gratitude for the beauty that already exists all around us.

These simple moments have taught me that spirituality doesn't only happen with our eyes closed on a meditation cushion.

It lives within everyday life.

Helping others has become my soul's work, just as my family continues to be one of my greatest soul journeys.

Nature fills my own cup, allowing me to hold space for others with presence, compassion and authenticity.

It naturally weaves its way into my Reiki teaching, Spiritual Healing, intuitive guidance and the protective space I create for every person I have the privilege to work with.

What Earth, Heart & Light Means to Me

This isn't simply the name of my work.

It's the philosophy that grew from my own healing journey and the way I now live my life.

I came to realise that my greatest transformation didn't happen because I found one perfect technique.

It happened because I slowly reconnected with three things I had been missing all along.

Earth

I learned how to ground myself.

To slow down.

To step away from the constant noise in my mind and reconnect with the healing wisdom of nature.

The more time I spent outdoors, the more I noticed my nervous system settling. I began to realise that nature wasn't separate from healing—it was part of it.

Heart

As Reiki gently peeled back the layers of protection I'd built around myself, I discovered something I had never truly experienced before...

Self-worth.

I began treating myself with greater kindness, setting healthier boundaries and allowing myself to receive the same compassion I had always given to others.

Healing my heart changed every area of my life.

Light

As fear slowly loosened its grip, my inner light began to shine again.

Not because life suddenly became perfect, but because I started trusting myself.

My intuition became stronger.

My connection to Spirit deepened.

I discovered that the wisdom I had been searching for outside myself had quietly been waiting within me all along.

Today, Earth, Heart & Light is woven through everything I do.

Whether I'm teaching Reiki, holding space in a healing session, facilitating a retreat or simply walking through the woods, it is this philosophy that guides me.

Ground.
Nurture.
Wisdom.

Helping people reconnect with these qualities has become both my life's work and my greatest privilege.

Qualifications & Experience

While my own healing journey has shaped who I am, I believe it's equally important that those I work with know they are in safe, experienced and knowledgeable hands.

Over the years I've continued to deepen my knowledge through professional training, personal development and thousands of hours of working with clients and students. Every course has added another layer to the way I support others today.

Life Beyond Earth, Heart & Light

Although supporting others is my life's work, I also know how important it is to nurture myself. One of the greatest gifts Reiki has given me is understanding that I can't pour from an empty cup. Looking after my own wellbeing isn't a luxury—it's an essential part of how I show up for my family, my clients and myself.

Nature continues to be where I feel most at home. If you know me, you'll know that one of my happiest places in the world is Kingley Vale. Walking amongst the ancient yew trees, listening to the birds and simply being present never fails to restore my energy.

It still feels like one of life's beautiful synchronicities that I stumbled across The Vale Café and Wellness Studio. It genuinely felt as though Mother Earth herself had gently guided me there, knowing it would become a place where I could share my work with others.

I also love travelling with my family and have always believed that travel is part of my soul's journey. Growing up in a military family meant I experienced the world from a young age, and I think that planted the seed of curiosity and adventure that is still with me today. Exploring new places, different cultures and spending time in nature around the world continues to inspire and nourish me.

I'm an avid reader and rarely have just one book on the go! You'll usually find two, three or even four books beside my bed—a spiritual book that continues my own learning, alongside a novel that allows me to escape into another world for a while.

The Reiki path has also transformed the way I care for myself. Today I choose nourishing foods, spend as much time outdoors as I can, enjoy long walks and hikes, and embrace a lifestyle that supports my wellbeing.

I have now been free from drugs for over 23 years, and alcohol no longer has a place in my life either. Looking back, I honestly believe that becoming a Reiki Master was one of the biggest influences in that transformation. As I became more connected to myself, my desire to care for my body naturally grew. Wherever possible, I also choose natural approaches to health before turning to medication.

Animals have always held a special place in my heart too. Our beautiful Ragdoll cat, Willow, brings so much love, comfort and gentle companionship into our home.

Above all else, my family are my greatest blessing. My three wonderful children—Jude, Saffron and Lawson—are my world, and my husband truly is my soulmate. This year we celebrate 25 years of marriage, something I feel deeply grateful for.

At 52 years young, I still approach life with curiosity, hope and plenty of laughter. My sense of humour and naturally positive outlook have carried me through some of the darkest chapters of my life, and they've taught me that even in difficult seasons, light can always be found.

That is perhaps the greatest lesson my own journey has taught me.

Healing isn't about becoming someone else.

It's about gently coming home to who you have always been.

I'd Be Honoured to Walk Beside You

If my story resonates with you, perhaps it's because you recognise parts of your own journey within it.

I know what it feels like to live with anxiety, to feel disconnected from yourself and to wonder if life could ever feel different.

I also know that healing doesn't happen overnight.

It unfolds gently, one step at a time, as we begin to reconnect with ourselves, with nature and with the wisdom that has always been within us.

Whether you're taking your first steps into Reiki, seeking healing, longing for a deeper spiritual connection or simply looking for a place where you can truly be yourself, I'd be honoured to support you.

Earth, Heart & Light isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about remembering who you already are.

I look forward to welcoming you.

With love,
